Installation¶

pip install skrecsys

or with uv:

uv add skrecsys

Requires Python 3.11+, on Linux, macOS or Windows. The wheels carry the compiled extension, so installing needs no Rust toolchain; they are built against the stable ABI, which means one wheel per platform covers every supported interpreter. Building from a source checkout needs a Rust toolchain and maturin.

Five optional extras add dependencies the core does not need:

skrecsys.nn raises an ImportError naming the extra when torch is missing; everything else works without it. Torch is needed to fit a neural recommender, not to use one: a fitted model holds nothing but numpy arrays, so it scores, pickles and unpickles in an environment that has no torch installed.
